About Sooty
Hello, my name is Sooty and I'm looking for my forever humans.
I am a gorgeous 5 month and 2 week old Silky Terrier x Tenterfield Terrier
I and many others came into care a few weeks ago from a backyard breeder and the rescue has made sure that I have had all my vet work completed and they are on a mission to find me my furever home.
I came into care a little nervous and unsure of people, but my foster mum has been working with me and she says while I can be shy around new people, I do warm up real fast to people and then I'm a love bug who loves to get pats and your attention.
I absolute love to snuggle and to sit on the lounge, on your lap, or next to you I likes to be close as possible and personal space is a myth. I love to snuggle and if your lying on the couch I will snuggle up to you near your head and just love it!
I am super kid friendly, and I mean why not, they can give the best cuddles to me!
I love having gentle pats and belly rubs and especially if they are wanting tv, I'll snuggle in!
I love to play and love to be with my humans.
I currently live in a home where my human is home and I love to spend time wither her and then off doing my thing with my fur foster siblings!
I currently weigh 3kgs
I am currently living with lots of other dogs (big and small) and once I get over being nervous around them I love it!!! I love to play and wrestle and play chase, tug of wars is fun and just basically hanging out with my fur siblings and loving life.
I also do love to snuggle up with them thru the day when it's nap time.
I love my food and treats
I currently live with a few cats and I'm fine 95% of the time, just some times I can get a bit excited and run up to them thinking they want to play with me with me (they don't - oops!)
I love to have a run around out in the yard with my foster siblings
I have lovely manners and know to how sit and wait, I can also do that for my dinner which my foster mum says is a huge plus as I can approach things with a bit of passion and energy!
I am currently learning crate training only cause when I came into care I needed to get some vet work done and the rescue was concerned that I wouldn't stay still for long. I don't mind it at all but if you wanted me on your bed at night I would happily do that!
I will take myself out to the toilet if the door is open but I have been known to make mistakes occasionally when the door is shut - I can use a doggy door and my foster mum asks that I please not try and go thru it at 100klms per hour but others do soooooooooo you know.............
My ideal home would be where I can be inside as much as I want and have access outside for lady business and some play and sunbaking. I would not enjoy being a dog that would be expected to spend hours outside by myself.
I would also love a home with another small breed dog who wants to play and be my friend.
I am looking for that forever home that will love me and I can love you – are you that home?

Once an adoption enquiry is completed our admin team will assess the application and if successful we will arrange for a meet and greet to be completed. We may also request photos of your yard for consideration of your application. Please note that we will do no more than 3 meet and greets per dog.
Approved applicants will be contacted to arrange a time for a meet & greet via email. You must bring your current dog along to the meeting if you are meeting another dog/puppy, this is to ensure they get along before commencing adoption - proof of your dogs up-to-date vaccination is required before any meet and greet is arranged.
Our adoption fee must be cleared in our bank account before any animal is available for pick up. Please note we bank with ANZ - any other bank may take 48 hours to process the monies.
Paw Prints Canine Rescue has a 10 day trial period – this basically means that if for any reason the adoption does not work out and the dog needs to be returned to us, the adoption fee minus an admin fee (minimum is $250) will be returned to the adoptees via bank transfer within 7 working days.
Please note that if an interstate adoption needs to be returned or regional adoption all transport cost with be paid by the adopter.
Please also note while this can be a very exciting time for everyone, it can also be an overwhelming time for dogs and we ask that you do try and allow your new family member to settle in their new home and adjust
INTERSTATE ADOPTIONS **
Any transport costs are to be paid by the adopting family, however we can assist you in helping with transport to airports etc.
** Please note some of our dogs are not available for interstate adoption
AFTER THE TRIAL PERIOD
After the 10 day trial period is completed Paw Prints Canine will send out all relevant paperwork for your new furbaby via email including the transfer of microchip form.
