About Stella
Meet Stella, who was rescued from a rural pound. She is a very chilled and gentle girl.
Stella came to us with a limp however after undergoing Bowen therapy and complimenting her healthy diet with supplements, Stella has made a great recovery.
Stella is a water baby so swimming will be fantastic for her and a Low-set home would be preferred.
Stella is cat friendly.
From her carer :
Stella (aka sweet girl or your majesty) is around five years old. She has lovely manners, and knows sit, wait, paw, and come round (turn around and stand on your left when out for a walk). She is a very relaxed lady, happy to go for a nice walk with you each day before snuggling in to sleep the day away. She's also quite independent - she will come to you for a cuddle but is also happy to be on her own. She can be left home alone for up to nine hours and doesn't show signs of separation anxiety. She is house trained and won't jump on furniture unless invited up.
But don't let her calm demeanor fool you, she is one sassy girl and will talk back to you of you are running late with her dinner, or to let you know she needs to go outside or for a walk. Her cutest quirk is her little whine whenever she yawns, and her soft purr whenever she's asleep.
She is learning better manners when walking and walks loose leash with a front clip harness on. We have been practicing the command come round whenever changing direction to correct pulling and ensure she walks on your left. She does get excited when seeing other dogs walking, so would do best with a slow reintroduction to socialising as she forgets her size and can be quite vocal and boisterous.
Medical notes
May require ACL surgery at a later date (which would be covered by AINB) but currently on supplements.
Adoption details
We list animals for adoption on Pet Rescue as well as on our own Animals-in-Need-Brisbane website. We talk with people who contact about an animal to see what their needs and situation are. Our emphasis is on getting the right animal for the people and the right people for the animal. If everyone's needs are met things usually work out well.
If the situation sounds good we arrange a meeting. If all goes well we let people try the animal out for a couple of weeks to ensure that everyone is happy.
We keep records of all adopters, follow up to ensure all is well and undertake to take back any animal if circumstances change.
