About Tiger
Assisted Rehome – Tiger
5 year old Bull Arab x Mastiff
Tiger was adopted through our rescue as a puppy but sadly due to a change in circumstances he is now needing to find a new home.
We are assisting his family with this process to ensure he goes to a safe and loving home.
His family have kindly obtained a full positive behaviour assessment and had him fully vet checked prior to rehoming.
Hi, my name is Tiger and I am the goodiest boy!
I'll be 5 in February and I've been with my family since I was adopted in 2019.
My family is HUGE and includes other dogs, cats, chickens, goats and a horse and I get along with all of them (well almost all of them - I don't like Boston, the other boy dog in the house).
But what I really like is PEOPLE! I LOVE people.
I just want to be with my humans, or anyone's humans.
In fact, I can lose my mind a little when I meet new humans, and just want to lick their faces and get jumpy – I try my hardest not to but I sometimes forget it’s not allowed.
I also don't like to be bored, I need a job - that can be as simple as guarding the yard or as complex as competing in dog sports.
I've had a go at agility, lure coursing, flyball and obedience as well as my favourite scent work.
I got to level 3 in obedience (Toowoomba Dog Obedience).
I really am a good boy – just wanting a good family to be mine.
From Tigers Mum
He really is a lovely dog and very intelligent.
But he can also use that clever mind for mischief including deciding whether or not to listen to commands if he thinks you can't see him.
He's also quite vocal when he is bored, but don't worry, it takes him at least 30 seconds away from his human to get bored.
He has lived with us for 4.5 years, but in the last year (in particular) he has started to fight with our other, 9 year old male dog.
This means he has had to spend time alone in crates or other isolation which he finds very stressful.
As such a great dog, this is not fair to him, so we are looking for a suitable home for him.
Tiger would suit a single person wanting company and the protection that is associated with a larger dog.
He would not be suitable for a home with small children as he does get excited and could knock over a smaller child.
He would be best for an active person or a person wanting to be involved in some kind of dog sport or furthering his education.
He does not need a lot of exercise (mental and physical), just enough to keep him from being destructive.
Given his recent desire to fight the other dog I would also recommend he be the only dog in the house.
He is an indoor dog.
Tiger is desexed, vaccinated, microchipped and is up to date with his flea and worm treatments.
He is located at Upper Tenthill QLD 4343 and his adoption fee is $300
Adoption details
The adoption fee includes desexing, microchipping, first vaccination, worming and flea treatment.
Our cats are to be indoor only, we figure this is a big step towards keeping them out of the pound.
Our dogs are to be inside/outside dogs, allowed to be inside at night and in poor weather conditions, included in the family, not left in the yard.
Adoption process includes a meet and greet followed by a home visit (in your home) by one of our team.
