About Honey and Spot
Hi Beagle lovers.
This is Honey and Spot. They are 18 month old sibling who love each other very much.
Honey is the more independent of the two and will go off on her own for a short period of time. But it’s not long before she is back looking for her brother.
Spot is a real softie and seeks out his foster parents for some cuddles.
Both Honey and Spot love to play and you can see them doing zoomies around the yard. Once they have run around, they then settle down for a snooze before doing it all again.
These two love to be with you and will follow you around the yard and help you with chores. If you have sticks to pick up then these two are there to help.
They love going out on walks and need some training to walk without pulling. If you are a runner or someone who goes out adventuring, Honey and Spot would love to be there by your side.
These two have not attempted to escape from their foster home but they still would need a secure yard.
During the recent storms they showed no signs of anxiety or fear.
Honey can get car sick at times. The secret of successful travel for her is not to feed her in the morning before travelling and put the window down. She loves the fresh air on her face and in her ears.
Honey and Spot visited another carer while is foster family were on a break. They were very well behave and got on well with all the resident dogs. They are very clever and could easily use the doggy door.
These two are social butterflies and enjoy the company of other dogs. They attended the Beagle Rescue Christmas party in the park and had a wow of a time.
These two have been brought up with children aged 10, 8 and 3 and loved them.
They would love a home with a big yard to run around in and would be happy for someone who works from home but it’s not important if you do go to work. They will have each other to keep each other company.
We are surprised they have not been snapped up. They are beautiful natured dogs and foster dad said he would adopt them if he did not already have two dogs.
So please, give these two gorgeous babies a chance to join your family.
If you would like to meet them please drop an email to
find this lovely pair a new furever home.

Adoption details
All of our Beagles & crosses will be vet checked & vetted prior to adoption. They'll be desexed, vaccinated, Heartworm tested, and preventatives started, Flea/worm & tick preventatives up to date, & any other medical needs completed/controlled with medication. We place a post on Facebook & Pet Rescue advertising each dog giving their full description and requirements. Application forms are sent by request to foster@beaglerescueqld.com.au. Adoption forms need to be returned along with photos of your fencing. We may also call you to undertake a face time call so you can show us your fencing and place where the dog will sleep.
The committee reads each one, choosing the best 1, 2, or 3 applications (depending the number of applications we receive) that suit each individual dog’s needs, personalities and developmental/health.
The Coordinator will forward the best application to the foster carer to organise the meet & greets. These take place in mutually agreed place. We will ask that all family members & any other hounds you have already accompany you on the meet & greet.
For families who are interstate or in regional QLD, meet/greets, yard/fence checks will be completed by one of our foster carers in the area, via Face time or we may ask you to provide photos/videos of your fences, yard & house/yard where your Beagle/Hound will be allowed & spend most of its time.
If the family is needing transport via plane or other means, this will be a case by case discussion between committee and adopting family, and all fees covered by the adopting family. BRQ can assist you to obtain a quote for this (Just know that all modes of transport will be scheduled based on the weather. For example, if the temperature is high that day, flights will be early morning or night).
If the meet and greet is succesful then the dog goes on trial.
The trial period of up to 12 days is then begins. During this time, both you, your family, the foster dog and other pets become familiar with each other & see if it all works between you all.
Whilst on trial, we require you to stay in contact sending updates and photos. If there are questions, issues or concerns please contact us.
During the trial period, if anything happens or there are medical issues, we ask to be contacted immediately. Depending on circumstances you may be responsible for vet bills. This will be assessed by the committee. We can arrange vet care or any other requirements during this time with our rescue vet. We can also help with training tips or strategies to assist your new family member to settle in their new home, also with dietary & behavioural training during this time.
If after the trial ends you have decided to continue with the adoption of your Beagle/Hound or cross, we request you let us know and then we will send you our bank details for you to pay. Once payment is cleared, will send you out your adoption pack. The pack includes De-sexing certificate or proof of de-sexing paperwork, Microchip ownership change over, Vaccination certificates. Adoption certificate, Adoption Information, Receipt of payment, Worming, Heartworm and Flea/Tick dates. With puppies, you receive a puppy pack. Life time guarantee of advice, training & support. If for any reason the trial doesn’t work & the dog is returned to BRQ, the adopting family is refunded the fee minus an admin fee of $50.
