About Minnie
Meet Minnie and Trixie: Dynamic Bloodhound Duo!
Minnie and Trixie are not just any ordinary pair of Bloodhound sisters; they are a bundle of energy, love, and endless curiosity! At just one year old, these charming girls are on a mission to find their forever home, whether it's together as inseparable sisters or with separate families as long as they have a canine companion to share their adventures.
As Bloodhounds, Minnie and Trixie embody the quintessential traits of their breed: loyalty, intelligence, and an insatiable desire to explore. Their keen sense of smell, a trademark of Bloodhounds, makes them excellent companions for outdoor activities and adventures. They thrive on plenty of exercise and are always ready for a good romp in the park or a long hike in the wilderness.
One thing Minnie and Trixie absolutely adore is attention! They love being the center of your world, and they'll reward your affection with their boundless love and loyalty. These girls are not just listeners; they are talkers too! They love to have a chat with you, expressing their feelings and sharing their day with cute whimpers and barks.
While Minnie and Trixie are open to new experiences, they have a firm stance on feline friends-they prefer a cat-free environment. However, they are more than happy to welcome a doggie friend into their lives, as they thrive on canine companionship and enjoy playing and socializing with other dogs.
In terms of family dynamics, Minnie and Trixie would do best in a home with older children, preferably over the age of 6 years. Their playful nature and size make them better suited for households where kids can interact with them safely and responsibly.
If you're looking for energetic, affectionate, and conversation-loving companions who are ready to embark on countless adventures with you, Minnie and Trixie are the perfect pair to consider. Give them a chance, and they'll fill your life with love, laughter, and unforgettable moments!
It's important to note that secure fencing is a must for Minnie and Trixie. Being adventurous spirits, they need a safe and enclosed space where they can freely explore and play without wandering off.
To book a meet and greet with Minnie please phone 5441-2209 or email barcreception@bendigo.vic.gov.au . Due to the high volume of emails received, enquiries with a request for a specific appointment with phone details included will receive a response as priority over generic applications which state they are interested in meeting an animal.

Adoption details
BARC adoption officers will work with you to help you find a dog or cat that matches your needs, they will discuss things like yard fencing, exercise requirements, other pets and family members, lifestyle factors, and breed experience. To help make this as quick and easy as possible, we ask you complete and adoption questionnaire (located on our website, or you can complete on when you visit). This helps ensure that we are introducing you to the most suitable animals we have available.
We encourage all members of the household to attend a meet and greet with a pet prior to adopting an animal. If the animal being adopted is a dog, we will also require existing dogs in the household to attend the shelter as part of the meet and greet.
Holds can not be placed on animals over the phone, and can only be applied at the discretion of management.
