About Wednesday
Meet the wonderful Wednesday! A friendly special needs 6mo kitten that was rescued as an older kitten and is now ready to transition into a loving forever home. She loves cuddles and play, but also knows how to entertain herself. Although little for her age, she is a clever adventurer at heart.
Wednesday is FIV positive, so she would be best suited to an indoor-only home that either has no cats or other cat(s) with FIV. She is currently in foster care with two other cats and a large dog she tolerates well. She also surprised her foster carers by not only tolerating but getting along well with young children that visit occasionally. Therefore, she would also suit a home with dog(s) and/or children with appropriate introduction.
Wednesday also has laryngeal paralysis, a condition that is rare in cats and results in Wednesday appearing to snort (a bit like a snuffling dog) when excited but doesn’t slow her down. She has been vet checked, regularly treated for parasites, had all her shots, and she has been desexed.
Now she’s just missing a warm loving forever home. Could that be you?
Medical notes
Wednesday is FIV positive.
A bit about FIV: A cat who contracts FIV will usually still have a strong immune system for several years after infection. It is only over time, that the effects of the virus may start to show, and even then, most infections can be treated with the appropriate medications. Many FIV positive cats can live normal lifespans.
Risk to other pets: FIV is only transmitted to other cats (so humans/dogs/other animals are safe). The primary mode of transmission for FIV is through bite wounds from an infected cat. Casual, non-aggressive contact, such as sharing water bowls or mutual grooming, does not appear to be an efficient route of spreading the virus.
