About Asha
FOSTER CARER NEEDED BY 23RD NOVEMBER
Asha: a little kitty with a big story to tell.
In December of 2019, Asha was rescued from a Bunnings carpark and at the time of rescue she was heavily pregnant, later giving birth to 5 gorgeous kittens safely in our care who all found fabulous homes easily.
Once the babes had left for their new homes, Asha was vaccinated and microchipped and moved to another foster carer with her desex booking the following week. Sadly, before Asha could be desexed, she escaped out of a gap in the bathroom window and fell the 3 storeys down and was unable to be found. Our team searched the streets, putting up posters on telegraph poles and fliers in every letter box and we had given up hope of ever seeing this smart kitty from the streets ever again.
A few months later, we received a call that she had been spotted in the next suburb living in the storm water drain in front of an apartment complex, we were even sent a photo of Asha sitting underneath her own missing poster! Cheeky girl…
Our excitement of getting her back however, soon diminished after fruitless attempts to trap her and the unwillingness of any of the residents of the street willing to help us. Asha soon disappeared from the area and again, we thought we would never see her again.
Over 7 months later from when she first went missing, we received a call from the RSPCA that she had been handed in! Luckily, Asha had been microchipped before her escape but sadly, not being desexed she had given birth in a backyard (now 2 suburbs away from where she had escaped) and we can only hope that the kittens were cared for and adopted as we have no idea what happened to them.
Fast forward to now: Asha is desexed! She has been chilling out with a fabulous foster carer who has been very patient with this lovely lady as she unwinds from her life of misadventure and settles into domesticated life. Her carer is returning home to Canada for Christmas so we do need a new foster home by 23rd November.
As a foster carer you will need to be gentle and patient with Asha, she currently eats from her carers hands and can be patted from the safety of her cubby where she will lean in for scratches and attention.
