About Daisy
Daisy is an affectionate girl who needs a very experienced owner. She was apparently purchased by a family from a drug dealer home at 9 weeks of age where she was chained and starved. There were constant strangers coming and going so loud noises and sudden movement scare her. Her litter mates were sold at 4 weeks of age and she was the runt. She was fed on Weetbix and did not know how to eat properly.
Daisy does not tolerate anything around her neck including a collar. She also has a sensitive rear end from apparently being kicked in the rear and in the head. Daisy does resource guard her bed, which is her retreat and this needs to be respected. She needs her safe haven.
Daisy has undergone some positive training with previous owners using touch treat methods and also with a clicker. She is very obedient to commands and quick to learn a new routine. She eats normally now and no longer resource guards food. As she is still overweight she is on a no carbs diet. She is a sedentary girl so losing weight has been challenging.
Daisy is in good health now but appears to have Diabetes Insipidus which is managed with tablets. This stope the constant drinking and urination.
Daisy is looking for a very experienced owner living in a quiet calm environment who has had a difficult dog before and preferably experienced with resource guarding. She is extremely affectionate, particularly in the mornings where she nuzzles you for attention and cuddles. She is a very gentle, slow moving dog and very social with smaller dogs and even rabbits. She has a medium coat and weighs 20.5kg.
Suit Full Time Worker: Not overly needy and can entertain itself. DR recommends play time, dog toys etc.
Garden: Needs a home that has more space as well as a garden for exercise and regular walks outside.

Adoption details
DoggieRescue is a charitable organisation and as such we rely very much on volunteers to manage our adoptions. We answer initial adoption enquiries by email or phone and then arrange an appointment for you to meet some of our rescue dogs.
At DoggieRescue we believe our dogs deserve to find that special someone who will love them and look after them forever. We know that there are homes out there that are willing to accommodate one more little member of the family and dedicate time to their well being.
