About Koda
Koda is a beautiful 4 yo Amstaff cross with a heart of gold.
A very clever and affectionate girl, Koda makes unbreakable bonds of loyalty to her family, which is why she's the perfect candidate for someone who wants a devoted and protective guardian dog.
Koda's back story is that she lived in a boarding kennel for two years after her former owners became homeless. She's been with us for six months and deserves a second chance at a normal, non-kennel life.
While she can be choosy about her canine friends, Koda absolutely loves puppies. With adult dogs, a proper introduction is in order.
Koda has fence reactivity, which means she goes off like a second-hand lawnmower when someone or something comes up to her boundary. This behavior is territorial, not aggressive, and probably stems from fear, anxiety and overexcitment associated with kennel life. However, once a visitor is inside her property, Koda's as sweet as pie. For more information on fence reactivity, go to https://resources.bestfriends.org/article/managing-barrier-reactivity
A little strong on a lead, Koda has much to contribute to the right home.
She is untested with children and cats.
Preference will be given to experienced applicants, who are around home most of the time. Like most Staffy types, Koda loves human company and her ideal home is one where she can be an integral part of a loving family.
